Food to be delivered to passengers at the Dubai International Airport's terminals.

Dubai Airports has launched a new food, beverage, and retail ordering service that allows travellers to place orders for their favourite dishes from the airport's restaurants and have them delivered to them before their flight.

This is the region's first project of its type. Passengers can now purchase things from the Duty Free and have them delivered to them before their flight using the DXB&more service.

"We're always exploring for ways to improve our customers' experience at DXB, whether it's through new shop and restaurant options or services and experiences like DXB&more," said Eugene Barry, EVP commercial at Dubai Airport.

"We've spent the last year thinking about the future of travel, the types of journeys our clients will want in the future, and how the travel retail environment will need to adjust to accommodate these changes."

The service, according to Barry, provides customers with a handy and "nearly frictionless" method to spend their time in the airport.

"For harried travellers, families who like to stay put, or guests of the many airport lounges, DXB&more means they can shop in Duty Free or eat at their favourite restaurant without having to travel far," he said.

In the first half of 2021, Dubai International Airport handled 10.6 million passengers. The airport anticipates an increase in traffic in the second part of the year.

Guests departing from DXB's Terminal 3, B, and C gates can use the WOW-fi landing page, QR codes located throughout the airport, or DXBmore.com to access the new offering.

Menus from DXB's favourite restaurants, as well as a wide range of Duty Free shopping options, are accessible to explore and order once you're online.

When making a purchase, guests have the option of having it delivered directly to their gate or lounge, or picking it up at the shop.
