Review: Bagatelle

The French know how to cook, eat, drink and party. They know how to live the good life.  Bagatelle Dubai is the authentic French Mediterranean restaurant, combining unique service with a lively atmosphere that isn’t the usual stale dining space, often found in luxury restaurants. Bringing a slice of the French Riviera to Dubai.

Found in the Fairmont hotel by the World Trade Centre, Dubai. It is the perfect spot for date night, or more importantly, that long overdue friends evening out dinner, where good food, music and party vibes are essential. The later it gets, the more relaxed it gets, don’t be surprised if you’re encouraged to dance on your chair after your meal.

The French vibe is unavoidable from the moment you enter, glamorous Dubai faces chat over each other giving the restaurant that famous buzzy vibe it is known for. Elegantly lit and with a carefully curated selection of French art, the whole experience screams flamboyance.

Not to be outdone, the food itself is impressive. The correct balance of flavours is key with classic dishes getting a gourmet makeover, the house ingredient truffle being used wherever possible. The signature cheese truffle pizza is an all-round winner. Close your eyes, and you’re on the streets of Paris.  The tuna tartare is another favourite, moist and tasty with a subtle chilli kick.

The hero fish dish has to be the pan-seared sea bass with barigoule sauce and leek fondue, one we will certainly be returning to try again. A lightly crisped octopus dish cooked to perfection with a spicy harissa sauce, succulent, tender and moreish is another must-try. The chicken in creamy sauce with surprise delight of asparagus and chicken sausage and green beans with roasted almonds which serve as the perfect accompaniment is another firm favourite, they are good with their poultry.
