This $35k Game of Thrones cake in Dubai is all your viewing party food goals

Thronies with a sweet tooth now have the ultimate bake to master ahead of July 17.

With the highly-anticipated Game of Thrones season 7 debut just weeks away, a savvy Dubai bakery have released a video detailing the making of their one-of-a-kind GoT cake featuring a very life-like edible Tyrion Lannister — and fans will be blown away by the detail involved.

Broadway Bakery in Dubai uploaded the clip of the intricate cake build to their YouTube channel on June 29, boldly labelling it the "World's Most Expensive $25,000 Cake", and it's already clocked up more than 27,000 views in just over a week.

However, even at 100,000 Emirates Dirhams ($35,000 or US$25,000), the bakery may have taken some creative liberty with the whole "world's most expensive" claim; the admittedly hefty price tag doesn't even come close to the current record holding cake priced at US$75 million, created by British designer Debbie Wingham (I KNOW, like anyone has a chance).

Unlike Wingham's cake replete with US$45 million in non-edible diamonds, this brooding beauty is completely edible, from the mind-boggling detailed Iron Throne to Tyrion's boots.

The imposing dessert stands at 1.2 metres tall, weighs almost 32 kilograms, and can feed more than 100 people, according to the bakery.

The detail that went into the dessert, as captured in the clip above, is actually quite astounding. Watch it for yourself, and prepare to be mesmerised.

"Our team didn't miss any of the small details either! Tyrion's holding a flask of his favorite guilty pleasure, and we've dressed him up in his distinctive red jacket with intricate gold artwork," Broadway Bakery captions the clip.

"Each component of the model has been crafted and painted to give the model a picture perfect finish."

While it looks impressive, the jury is still out on whether the cake actually tastes delicious. The entire dessert is made from sugar fondant and sugar paste, so more icing sculpture than cake – basically the equivalent of shovelling mouthfuls of pure sugar, which is sure to make for some interesting GoT viewing fuel.
