Two of the creators of homegrown café Friends Avenue in JLT are set to open their second concept in Dubai next month, located in The Greens.
Co-owners and founders Davron Hamidov and Zee Alikhonov have revealed that their new venture is an 1,800ft2 casual dining venue called Arrows and Sparrows.
“Initially, our vision was to create a group of cafés and restaurants with different concepts, each having their own personality,” said Alikhonov.
“Thus, our next project is not another branch of Friends’ Avenue – but a new and exciting casual dining café and restaurant located in The Greens, where we feel there’s a gap for a cool, contemporary, but comfortable café serving excellent food and coffee,” he added.
Hamidov and Alikhonov opened Friends Avenue with friend and business partner Fazliddin Kosimov in February 2015, offering "hearty food, organic coffee, warm and friendly service, and cozy atmosphere", according to the Uzbekistan-born restaurateurs, who are all in their mid twenties.
Hamidov commented: “In the beginning, it was quite terrifying for us to take the risk of opening a new café on our own - three young guys, with no previous background in entrepreneurship, in a completely new market. However, our passion for food and coffee was so strong that we knew we had to do it.”
Arrows and Sparrows is due to open in August within Emaar Business Park in The Greens.
Congratulation!
