New home-grown fusion food concept opens in Abu Dhabi

Dubai-based Glee Hospitality Solutions, a leading hospitality consultant and operator, has unveiled Majlis Alfareej – a home-grown authentic and fusion emirati concept in Abu Dhabi.

Glee Hospitality developed the concept with the owners of Majlis Alfareej, provided pre-opening technical support as well as the post-opening operational management for the restaurant, which offers traditional and fusion Emirati cuisine, bringing to life the traditional food with a modern fusion twist.

A family business owned by an Abu Dhabi-based Emirati National, Majlis Alfareej is located in Darwish Tower – the upcoming food and beverage destination hub on Danat Street in the UAE capital.

Majlis Alfareej offers a complete food experience in Abu Dhabi, and further builds on Glee Hospitality’s commitment to unique food concepts, exciting menus, fresh ingredients, contemporary design elements developed in-house coupled with a well-trained, amicable and approachable staff.

The restaurant’s unique selling proposition is the menu by celebrity Emirati chef Khulood Atiq, who is currently the Arabian and Emirati cuisine specialist for Abu Dhabi's Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC); and also the author of a cook book – Sarareed – released in cooperation with TCA. The bilingual Arabic-English book sheds light on traditional Emirati, Arabian recipes and gives an insight into Emirati hospitality. Also on offer is a wide array of khaleeji Cuisine.

Abdul Kader Saadi, managing director at Glee Hospitality Solutions, said: “In line with its strategy to unravel unique food concepts, we are privileged to launch Majlis Alfareej in Abu Dhabi. The objective was to unravel traditional Emirati culture and entertainment with healthy fusion food concept to cater to the various taste needs of our patrons across the UAE.”

He added: “Abu Dhabi is a unique destination, with a strong UAE identity as also a melting pot of other cultures – so our food concepts are set to become a rage very soon. The concept keeps its authenticity and with the fusion element added to it, will attract the western palate as well.”

Khuloud’s passion for Emirati and Arabian cuisine and her modern take on traditional dishes is what gives the food at Majlis Alfareej its authentic soul and taste. With bold and mouth-watering signature dishes such as Green Soup Pie and Diyay Tortilla, Majlis Alfareej’s food offering definitely stands out.

Open from 9 am to 12 midnight, the restaurant has a wide menu such as Machbous, Lgeimat, Sagaw and Karak Tea. The extensive selection of menu and the opening hours will extend to provide all three meals and beyond to its guests. Post-Ramadan, the restaurant will also serve breakfast.
